Gameplay Programmer (M/F/NB)

Overview of the project: Mad Pumpkins GameStudio is currently seeking a Programmer for the production of Movierooms. This role presents an exciting opportunity to join a young and dynamic team dedicated to developing an innovative independent video game, specifically a business management game set in the cinema industry.

While a pre-alpha version of the game with some main features already exists, there is a need to further develop additional levels and improvements for the early access phase. You will collaborate closely with our French Technical Director and the Italian Mad Pumpkins team.

Requirements:

Programming: A solid academic knowledge of core programming principles and 3d geometry. Minimum 2 years experience with C#. Knowledge of Video Game AI concepts. Comfortable with version Management.
Experience: Minimum 2 years working with Unity. Having launched a game. You have at least 2 years experience in an environment combining C# development and automated build management.
Be available to experience the team via Discord and other online tools (MIRO, Notion, UnityHub... etc.), have a good connection and be able to communicate with the team about your work, accept any requests for changes or constructive criticism.
You pay particular attention to the cleanliness and efficiency of your code (CPU/GPU usage, memory management).
You are comfortable using version management software such as Git.
You are a rigorous and methodical person, curious, you want to understand what you are doing.

Bonus points:

Knowledge of the tools used in production by artists (Blender, Maya, Photoshop, etc...).
Writing your own work tasks and drafting the GDD via notion highly appreciated, to keep the team and possible new members up to date.

Arrangements: Remote-work only. Mad Pumpkins’ team is working from home from multiple places in France and Italy and does not have any office open for employees for now. Ease to speak and write in the workplace and programming English is needed. Mad Pumpkins uses the Agile methodology for project and team management.
