We are looking for a Data Scientist to join our new feature team at PRODA that will work on the automatic extraction, classification, standardisation and validation of financial data documents in commercial real estate.

They will work closely with our product and analyst teams and our customers to understand the source data and the steps required to transform it into a standardised data model. They will iterate on the steps and incrementally build automations in Python such that the process can be done end-to-end, using ML and AI tools, supplemented by user input as needed. They will then work with the Data Insights and Engineering teams on implementing these flows within our application.

Responsibilities

Develop flows for extraction of data from financial documents in PDF and Excel formats
Evaluate disparate data sources to develop a generalised data model, and a process to convert extracted data into that using standardisation and validation steps
Drive the development of automation with a focus on enhancing speed, accuracy, and applicability
Collaborate with Product, Data Insights, Engineering, and Client Success teams
Stay abreast with emerging technologies and industry trends in financial data reporting and requirements of clients
Clearly and concisely communicate findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degrees in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics or relevant STEM discipline
Proven experience in solving complex problems, ideally within the financial sector, or in data extraction and modelling
Knowledge of financial statements and commercial real estate data sources would be beneficial
Minimum 2 years of relevant commercial experience
Proficiency in data analysis with SQL and programming with Python
Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team
Deliver end-to-end solutions, learning all aspects of the development process
Strong project management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
