Job Title: Fulltime/DH– Sr. Automotive Quality Engineer
Location: Fremont, OH
Salary Range: $70000.00 - $90000.00
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Provides Quality Engineering Support and Leadership in the Quality Department.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide quality leadership/support for launching programs
Cover Quality Manager duties when Quality Manager is out of plant
Assist in evaluation, maintenance, and improvement of the quality system
Ensure that products produced meet quality standards required to minimize quality costs and maximize customer satisfaction while ensuring procedures and processes are adhered to
Maintain and service current programs using quality methodologies and tools
Lead IATF 16949-2016 Audits
Dock Audit Support
Lead PFMEA/CP development
Customer specific audits and requirements compliance
Communicate quality issues
Be well-versed in all customer quality systems
Hands-on in testing and methodical problem solving
Maintain confidentiality with all documentation and involvement in development of future products
Participate in formal improvement team activities. Support all departmental and organizational improvement initiatives in order to achieve business objectives.
Provide document support to our client's new or transfer programs when updated or requested
Assist in Process Flow/PFMEA/Control Plan development
Support and lead new program launch activities
Support and mentor new department members to ensure success
Ensure off shifts understand current customer quality issues
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor Degree in Quality related field
Must have an extensive background in implementing corrective actions
5+ years quality experience in the automotive industry is "highly” preferred
Working Knowledge of Customer Portholes/Systems
Experience with Nissan, Toyota and/or Honda is a "huge” plus
Working knowledge of MS Windows/Office
Knowledge and experience of PFMEA/Control Plan/PPAP
Knowledge and experience in error-proofing techniques
Experience in using problem-solving techniques
Ability to work well in team settings to develop and implement best practices that emphasize defect prevention, reduction in variation and waste, and provide for continuous improvements in meeting all customer requirements.
Experience in working with customer concerns
Ability to travel, possibly overnight (less than 10% of the time)
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), organizational, and time management skills
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
