Job Need
- Current situation is need temp SQL expert in US FP&A who will take over multiple planned SQL Server projects for our departmental data warehouse and reporting solution based on Microsoft technologies (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS and MS SQL Server 2012).
- Main responsibilities are 3-4 technical upgrade projects which involve technical assessment, evaluation, technical project planning, T-SQL developments, technical testing, UAT and rollout in all relevant satellite systems of Microsoft Business Intelligence Stack and to newer version of SQL Server 2019/2022.
- Additionally, the SQL temp resource will plan, re-design, implement, test and rollout new developments
Planned Projects
- Upgrade VM SQL Server 2012 in Azure (End of support since 2022) to SQL Server 2019/2022
- New SAP ERP data source and replace current (planned for mid-year 2024) with all ETLs
- AWS Redshift technology change to SnowPark technology which impacts current ETL loads as data source (planned for end of May 2024)
- Query and storage performance to reduce MS Azure costs (if time permits)
Challenges - Future Azure SQL Server and PaaS or IaaS
- Need of readiness evaluation for SSIS/SSAS/SSRS/SQL database
- Future of SSIS and current ETLs
- Alternatives like MS Power BI Query, Power BI dataflows, Azure Data Factory, Databricks
- Future of Multidimensional Analysis Services 2019/2022
- Temp SQL resource must show deep development/programming knowledge in older technology SQL Server 2012 and modern cloud-based data warehouse/business intelligence systems from Microsoft

- Full responsibility with supervision of new development tasks to enable future functionality of current data warehouse and reports in newer technology for above projects
- Organizing technical and end user testing for final deployment to different technical environments with Andreas Mehlberg
- Creating and maintaining technical and end user documentation if needed
