About the internship
The Finance team is at the center of the Metabolic Ecosystem that supports the essential functioning and business practices of each part of the Ecosystem. Within Metabolic, the finance vision stresses not the need for profitability for the sake of profitability but for financial sustainability that allows the organisation to achieve its impact mission whilst also allowing people in the organisation to thrive. It is our responsibility to maintain the balance between financial and organisation health, external impact and internal well being.
The Finance function has 4 main parts: Strategic Finance; Finance Business Partnering; Business Intelligence and FP&A; Finance Excellence. We strive to be mission driven and customer focused and focus on empowered decision making, transparency and consistency in communication and supporting ongoing learning and development.
We are currently recruiting for a Finance Intern to join our team. In this unique and exciting opportunity, you will be a valued member of our small close-knit and warm team, with a focus on support in all aspects of Finance administration - so primarily supporting the Finance Excellence area. Your role will contribute to our mission by supporting your Finance teammates on all Finance-related initiatives across our ecosystem of companies. Working closely to support the Finance team, you will learn about delivering a professional, efficient and flawless Finance lifecycle. Key activities include:
- Assisting with the accounts payable and bank reconciliation processes
- Support tax compliance process
- Assist in the monthly payroll transaction process
- Support financial excellence improvement projects currently in play
- Provide any other general administrative support to the Finance function
The internship starts as soon as possible, and should last forabout five months (September 2024). It requires four to five days of work per week. This internship provides a stipend amounting to €877.59/month pro-rata (based on 40 hours per week).
Requirements
We are looking for someone with the following qualifications:
- Enrolled in Finance, Business-Economics, Business Administration, or a related field (at least until September 2024 - please mention your expected graduation date in your CV)
- Previous experience or strong interest in Finance topics, and a desire to learn and grow in the field
- Motivated, curious to learn, affinity with analysis and good attention to detail
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
- The ability to work independently and in a team
- Strong written and spoken communication skills (English)
- Self-awareness of personal career development goals
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for an internship with Metabolic the following criteria must be met:
- Enrolled for the entire duration of an internship (at least until August 2024)
- Have a residence permit in the Netherlands (valid for working purposes and for the entire duration of the internship)
- Have, or be able to request, a BSN (burgerservicenummer/citizen service number)
