Position Overview
We are seeking a Research Analyst who will play a leading role in curating datasets, executing custom projects for sports analytics teams, exploring new applications, and spearheading data initiatives. This role involves a blend of quantitative analytical prowess, innovative thinking, and a keen interest in sports analytics. You will also play a critical role in product design and implementation, ensuring our solutions remain at the cutting edge of technology and analytics. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, capable of conducting independent research as well as collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities
- Curate and manage datasets relevant to sports analytics, ensuring data accuracy and reliability.
- Maintain, enhance, and apply our Python-based analytics toolkit and code base to generate efficient, accurate, and insightful data driven analysis.
- Lead custom research projects for sports teams, from inception through to delivery, providing actionable insights and recommendations.
- Explore new applications for sports analytics, identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement.
- Drive data initiatives within the company, enhancing our data collection, analysis, and visualization capabilities.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of new products and features, working closely with the development team to integrate analytical methodologies.
- Present findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, effectively communicating complex ideas and results.
- Keep abreast of the latest trends and developments in sports analytics, data science, and related fields.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for existing applications.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Proven experience in data analysis, research, or a similar role, preferably within sports analytics or a related industry.
- Strong proficiency in statistical software and programming languages (Python / MATLAB) and familiarity with database management (PostgreSQL).
- Proficiency in working with asynchronous functions and REST APIs.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and analyze large datasets, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex data in a clear and concise manner to diverse audiences.
- A passion for sports and a deep understanding of the sports analytics landscape.
