Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Design & Project Development
- Lead homeowners through all phases of the design-build process, from Concept & Feasibility to Post-Design Follow-Up.
- Measure and document existing conditions for remodeling projects.
- Create innovative, functional, and aesthetically pleasing designs tailored to each homeowner's needs.
- Prepare presentation drawings, 3D models, and construction plans using design software (Chief Architect experience preferred).
- Assist in developing preliminary budgets and scope of work outlines.
- Work closely with the production team and trade partners to refine project details.
- Estimating & Pre-Construction
- Conduct site inspections to assess feasibility for remodeling projects.
- Perform accurate material take-offs and secure quotes from vendors/trades.
- Develop and maintain detailed estimating systems for residential remodeling.
- Ensure high-level accuracy in contract documentation and cost projections.
- Coordinate with vendors for architectural and specialty material procurement.
- Construction Coordination & Support
- Transition projects from design to construction, ensuring all team members understand project plans and specifications.
- Provide ongoing support to the production team and homeowners during construction.
- Address on-site challenges and modifications, collaborating with Lead Carpenters and Production Managers.
- Maintain detailed job site documentation and manage scope adjustments as needed.
The ideal candidate should possess:
- 10+ years of experience in residential remodeling, architecture, project design, or estimating.
- Strong knowledge of home renovations, additions, and kitchen/bath design.
- Proficiency in design software (Chief Architect preferred) and estimating tools.
- Ability to produce construction plans, presentation drawings, and detailed specifications.
- Experience working with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and CRM programs.
- Deep understanding of wood-frame construction methods and remodeling best practices.
- Excellent communication, client interaction, and leadership skills.
- Valid driver's license for site visits.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
This is a hands-on role in a small boutique design-build firm-everyone wears multiple hats, so flexibility and a team-player mentality are essential!
