The Data Architect will play a pivotal role in the design, development, and maintenance of our data infrastructure, focusing on data quality, integrity, and stability. This role requires extensive experience in SQL, Spark, and Azure, as well as a strong background in building scalable data solutions. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with stakeholders across the organization to enhance data processes and ensure the reliability of our data assets. 

About the Role

  • Development of Data Solutions: Identify opportunities to enhance existing data workflows and develop new data solutions, including additional data pipelines or automated quality checks, to support evolving business requirements. 
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with IT, compliance, and business teams to align data practices with organizational needs. Act as a technical expert on data quality and integrity, supporting the development of reliable, scalable data solutions. 
  • Data Quality Oversight: Implement and monitor automated data quality checks, ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across sources. Work with stakeholders to troubleshoot and resolve data quality issues. 
  • Governance Implementation: Develop and enforce data governance standards, policies, and best practices, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and compliance requirements. Collaborate with IT to integrate governance standards into both existing and new data systems.
  • Data Integrity Management: Oversee data validation and verification processes to maintain data integrity throughout its lifecycle. Ensure data handling and storage comply with internal policies and regulatory standards.  
  • Metrics & Reporting: Establish and track key data quality and governance metrics, providing insights and recommendations to inform continuous improvements and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Data Stewardship Coordination: Lead data stewardship initiatives by collaborating with data owners across departments to ensure adherence to data management best practices.
  • Risk & Compliance Management: Ensure data governance and quality practices comply with regulatory standards, such as GDPR and CCPA. Proactively identify and mitigate data-related risks. 

 

About You

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Data Science, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred, but equivalent work experience is acceptable. A master's degree or relevant certification (e.g., CDMP, DGSP) is a plus. 
  • Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in data governance, data management, or a related field, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role. 
  • Skills: 
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL, Spark. Strong understanding of ETL processes and data pipeline management.  
  • Advanced knowledge of data governance practices, standards, and compliance.
  • Strong analytical skills for assessing both high-level data patterns and intricate data sets.  
  • Demonstrated experience in debugging and resolving complex data issues quickly. 
  • Proven experience with data quality management, data stewardship, and regulatory compliance. 
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with stakeholders at all levels. 
  • Familiarity with data governance tools and technologies. 
  • Familiarity with Azure and Databricks.  
  • Familiarity with C# and Git a plus  
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to drive data-driven decision-making.
