Description

The Data Architect will be responsible for designing, creating, deploying, and managing our company's data architecture. This role requires a deep understanding of data management, including data modeling, data access, and data storage techniques, and the ability to translate business requirements into secure, scalable, and reliable database systems.

Requirements
  • Define and implement data strategies that support enterprise business needs and objectives.
  • Design and construct large relational databases/ warehouse, and integrate new systems with existing warehouse structure, and refine system performance and functionality.
  • Develop data models for applications, metadata tables, and supporting relational database structures.
  • Design and implement modern data architectural frameworks to support evolving business landscapes and diverse customer needs i.e. Data Mesh, Fabric, and Lake/ Lakehouse.
  • Oversee and be hands-on with orchestrating and configuring large scale data pipelines to curate diverse data sets.
  • Oversee the integration of new data management technologies and software engineering tools into existing structures.
  • Ensure architecture will support the requirements for privacy, security, and regulatory compliance.
  • Provide guidance and support to data management teams and collaborate with IT staff and business units to determine data needs.
  • Build, lead, and inspire high-performing data team, fostering a culture of ownership, learning, and collaboration.


Essential Knowledge:  

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Data Architect, Data Scientist, Data Engineer, or similar role.
  • Extensive experience with database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP), and ETL (Extract, transform, load) frameworks.
  • Knowledge of programming languages like SQL, R, Python, or Scala.
  • Demonstrated knowledge implementing common and modern data architectural frameworks i.e. (Data Mesh, Fabric, Lakes, Lakehouses, etc.).
  • Experience with cloud technologies, particularly AWS (e.g., S3, Redshift, Glue, Lambda, Athena).
  • Demonstrated experience with big data technologies such as Apache Spark, Databricks, or similar.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools and data migration methods.
  • Proven analytical skills and the ability to tackle issues that may arise from complex data management.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage teams and interact with stakeholders.


Essential Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Management, or a related field.


Essential Skills:

  • Highly analytical mindset and ability to understand business needs is a plus
  • Healthcare industry experience and familiarity with healthcare standards and regulations (i.e. HIPAA, FHIR, HL7) is a plus
  • Databricks Certifications like Data Engineering or Solution Architect is a plus
  • AWS Solution Architect is a plus
