Responsibilities & Qualifications

Maintain and update data governance policies for the organization. Monitor data governance controls and procedures. Support the execution of testing activities per architectural and data governance standards to ensure data accuracy and integrity. Foster collaboration and alignment with cross-functional teams, including IT, and business. Collaborate with stewards, architects, and reporting services to achieve compliance with data governance policies. Support collection, measurement, monitoring, and reporting of data governance metrics. Own the catalog data to build a scalable approach and supporting practices to ingest and organize this data and make it accessible to data consumers. Assist business in prioritizing data governance activities to meet enterprise needs, in accordance with portfolio management framework. Stay current with data standards and best practices related to data governance, and data quality to continuously improve organizational data governance. Manage documentation as well as monitor remediation of key data issues. Lead Data Stewardship meetings and engage with stewards providing direction and guidance on their activities to support enterprise data governance. Collaborate with business units, driving prioritization across project release schedules to deliver governed data, thereby supporting business priorities, and concurrently improving data quality for efficient operations. 

 

Preferred Experience and Skills 

  • 7 years of experience in Data Governance 
  • 3 years of experience in team leadership 
  • Experience with querying data, project management, data structures, flows, and uses in P&C insurance companies   
  • Experience with Data Governance and Data Quality technology (Alation, Collibra, Unity Catalog, etc.) 
  • Knowledge of EDW standards & trends 
  • Oral & written communication skills 
  • Interpersonal skills 

 

Preferred Education and Training 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, math, or related discipline 
  • Associate in General Insurance designation.
