General Description:
The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in defining and driving our data governance program. You will develop and execute a comprehensive data strategy that aligns with the overall business goals and objectives of the organization. You will have overall accountability for the execution of R&D data governance operations, integrations, and programs. You will ensure that the data governance policies, standards, roles, accountability, and oversight necessary for sustainable data quality are in place and operating effectively while also overseeing the data reporting, and issue management processes. You will also be responsible for R&D Operational Data Management
Essential Functions of the job:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive data strategy that aligns with the overall business goals and objectives of the organization.
- Lead a team responsible for defining and implementing data governance policies and procedures to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and security.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders, including business leaders, IT teams, and data owners, to identify data needs and requirements and develop solutions to meet those needs.
- Establish and maintain a data governance framework, including data standards, data quality controls, and data management processes.
- Monitor data usage and quality across the organization, and proactively identify and address any issues or inconsistencies.
- Stay up to date on industry trends and best practices in data strategy and governance, and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external partners and vendors to support data strategy and governance initiatives.
- Communicate data strategy and governance updates and progress to senior leadership and other stakeholders.
- Develop and manage the data strategy and governance budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to achieve business objectives.
- Mentor and coach team members, providing guidance and support for their professional development.
- Represent the organization in industry events and conferences to showcase our data strategy and governance practices.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as legal and compliance, to ensure data practices align with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Evaluate and implement new technologies, tools, and processes to improve data strategy and governance capabilities.
- Provide leadership for Operational data management for R&D data and build a team to support operational data cleaning and maintenance.

Education Required: 10+years Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or related scientific discipline
Strong functional knowledge and familiarity with Data Governance Frameworks
- Knowledge of the analytics needs of multiple functional areas of a technology and business (e.g., engineering, data product, data science, Clinical Research and Clinical Operations)
- Experience with Reltio , Colibri or similar tools.
- Experience in driving Data Governance program at Enterprise level.
- Strong Expertise with relational databases and SQL
- Experience in working with Semi-Structured data
- Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent experience.
- Familiarity with Git, Cloud computing – AWS, LSH, Linux environments
- Experience in working on multi-faceted work items around data – Data profiling, Adhoc loads, Structured & Semi-structured data analysis, Production implementation & validation, Data issue analysis, User Support
- Excellent documentation and general organization of ongoing tasks, including the ability to evaluate and question business rules.
- You practice empathy and kindness, and you look to help others – within & outside the team.
- Experience or understanding in drug development processes in pharmaceutical company.

Salary Range: $192,900.00 - $262,900.00 annually
BeiGene is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. Actual compensation packages are determined by several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, certifications, relevant education or training, and specific work location. Packages may vary by location due to differences in the cost of labor. The recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for a preferred location during the hiring process. Please note that the listed range reflects the base salary or hourly range only. Non-Commercial roles are eligible to participate in the annual bonus plan, and Commercial roles are eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan.
