THE ROLE

We are looking to add an E-commerce Jr. Data Scientist. As part of our E-Commerce team, you will help craft new strategies using data. The ideal candidate will be analytical, critical and have inquisitiveness. In this role you will be our first data scientist, you will get to influence the long-term evolution of Shoepalace.com. We need someone who has experience in creating the ultimate experience for our online customers. This role will influence the direction of the business by leveraging our data to deliver insights that drive decisions and actions. The role will help SP identify, evaluate, and evangelize new techniques and tools to continue to improve our ability to deliver value to our SP customers. An individual with the ability to connect the dots of the customer journey online. This one takes an organized data guru who is ready to wear many sneakers and keep shoepalace.com at top of the game. We are sure this will be a fantastic addition to our E-Commerce team and a great ride for you.

Range: $65k-73k

THIS IS WHAT A DAY AT WORK MAY BE LIKE…
• Identifying the data-analytics problems that offer the greatest opportunities to the organization.
• Lead product decisions through data and insights; set goals and identify the right levers to achieve those goals.
• Design, implement, process, and interpret data.
• Develop and maintain weekly update reports on all projects – Tracking and reporting.
• Drive adoption and usage of analytical products and models.
• Juggle multiple projects, connections, and to-do’s simultaneously – get things done and meet deadlines.
• Collaborate with diverse teams. - Maintain strong business partner relationships to gain cross organization alignment.
• Automate reporting where possible to make the team more efficient.
• Communicating findings to stakeholders using visualization and other means.
• Provide ad-hoc reporting as necessary (sometimes urgent escalation)

ABOUT YOU…
• Bachelor’s degree or higher
• 2-3 years of experience as a data scientist or analyst.
• Computer Savvy
• Experience with data scripting languages (e.g., SQL, Python, etc.)
• Strong team building skills; proven ability to work in cross-functional teams.
• Breaking down lofty ideas into step-by-step actionable tasks is what you are all about.
• Excellent presentation, communication, and project management skills.
• Solid competency in statistics and the ability to provide valuable analysis.
• Being adept at changing priorities and working independently on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Self-starter with entrepreneurial experience and ability to interact with other functions in matrix environment.
