CorroClinical (versalushealth.com) provides utilization management and clinical documentation services to the hospitals we serve. This segment of the business is currently seeking a SQL Developer with vast knowledge in this space. Translating business needs into technical requirements will be key for this role. The SQL Developer is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of data transfer and reporting through analysis, coding, clear documentation, and problem resolution. This individual will analyze and translate functional specifications of the business needs and then develop, test, and implement program logic. This role requires collaboration with stakeholders to analyze data needs, create reporting solutions, and ensure regulatory compliance in line with healthcare standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Job Responsibilities:
- Business Process Translation: Works heavily with UM and CDI Business to translate requirements into automated solutions
- Database Development: Design, implement, and maintain SQL databases for healthcare systems, including data structures, views, stored procedures, and indexes.
- Data Integration: Extract, transform, and load (ETL) processes to integrate data from multiple sources, ensuring data consistency and integrity.
- Performance Optimization: Optimize SQL queries and database performance by analyzing execution plans, improving query logic, and utilizing indexing strategies.
- Healthcare Data Management: Work with healthcare-specific data, including Electronic Health Records (EHR), claims data, clinical information, and patient records, ensuring adherence to HIPAA and other regulatory standards.
- Reporting & Analytics: Develop and maintain reporting solutions to support business operations and decision-making, using SQL, reporting tools, and data visualization platforms (e.g., SSRS, Power BI).
- Data Security & Compliance: Ensure database systems adhere to security best practices and comply with healthcare data regulations, including HIPAA, HITRUST, and other industry standards.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data analysts, business intelligence teams, and healthcare professionals, to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation for database structures, procedures, and processes, ensuring that they are up-to-date and accessible to the team.
- Troubleshooting & Support: Provide ongoing support for database-related issues, troubleshoot problems, and ensure data availability and integrity for users.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A focus on healthcare or data management is preferred.
- Experience:
- 3+ years of hands-on experience as an SQL Developer.
- Proven experience working with UM and CDI healthcare data, including familiarity with EHR systems, clinical data, and medical billing systems.
- Experience with ETL processes, data modeling, and SQL query optimization.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in SQL (T-SQL, PL/SQL) and relational database management systems such as SQL Server, MySQL, or Oracle.
- Experience with data warehousing and business intelligence tools (e.g., SSIS, SSRS, Power BI).
- Familiarity with healthcare data standards and regulatory requirements, including HIPAA and HL7.
- Strong knowledge of database security best practices.
- Preferred:
- Experience scripting task automation or integrations (e.g., PowerShell, Python) is a plus.
- Certification in healthcare data management or compliance (e.g., CHDA, HITRUST) is advantageous.
Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
