AdventHealth is making a big stride in the area of Consumer and Marketing Analytics, dedicated to transforming members’ health experience using technology and analytics. In order to remain ahead of the curve we are looking for innovative and committed individuals to help support data science as it relates to our Consumer facing Digital products. Our goal is to provide data driven direction by providing analytical solutions and information tools to AdventHealth leadership and clients that drive the positive engagement of AdventhHealth Consumers.

 

We are currently hiring a Senior Data Scientist whose focus will be on consumer and marketing products. Under the direction of the Senior Manager of Data Science and Marketing Insight, the candidate will utilize cutting-edge predictive modeling techniques, test rigorous hypotheses, design studies, turn data and insights into actionable plans. They will generate solutions that effectively translate clients’ business problems into well-defined data modeling or analytics problems. Being part of a talented team of data scientists and engineers with broad skills and applications, the Senior Data Scientist will work cross-functionally and collaboratively with teams across the organization through machine learning and cutting-edge platforms. The scope of our work includes predictive modeling, forecasting, designing business experiments, and ROI studies, with primary focus on consumer and marketing.

 

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience on healthcare data, demonstrated ability to generate powerful insights and directions, demonstrated innovative and creative methods for overcoming testing constraints, as well as successfully applying machine learning techniques to address business needs. He or she also possesses the technical know-how to work closely with the Data Warehouse and Big Data teams, and will play a vital role in the design and implementation of cloud-based analytic solutions. The Senior Data Scientist is a self-motivated investigator who will propose and assess analytic projects with measurable return on investment to business leaders; direct and mentor data scientists to consistently deliver state-of-the-art analytics solutions to address the organization’s most difficult and pressing challenges; communicate predictions and findings to leadership through effective data visualization and reports; promote the analytic work of the department through publications and conferences.

 

 

The value you’ll bring to the team\:

         Develop and implement new algorithms for processing and imputing consumer and marketing-related financial and operational data in collaboration with other internal technical and engineering teams

         Transform large amount of complex data into business insights and solution by using statistics or latest technology in machine learning, pattern recognition, text mining, and parallel/distributed computing

         Identify data abnormalities and their root causes, and suggest possible steps for mitigation

         Perform ad-hoc studies and develop analytic reports

         Formulate validation strategies to ensure accurate and reliable data

         Follow best practices for developing analytic methodologies and software

         Advocate and educate on the value of data driven decision making focusing on the “how and why” of solving problems

         Lead analytic approaches, integrating work into applications and tools with data engineers, business leads, analysts and developers

         Create iterative, interpretable, dynamic and scalable models that are seamlessly incorporated into analytic data products based on feedback from multiple stakeholders

         Engineer features by using their business acumen to find new ways to combine disparate internal and external structured and un-structured data sets and sources

         Share their passion for Data Science with broader enterprise community; identify and develop long-term processes, frameworks, tools, methods and standards

         Collaborate and learn with a growing team of experienced Data Scientists

         Stay connected with external sources of ideas through conferences and community engagements

         Research on latest technologies and tools in data-mining industry and develop prototype for business use cases

         Understand department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas.

         Make decisions regarding own work methods, sometimes in ambiguous situations, and require minimal direction and receives guidance where needed.

         Interpret and communicate analytic results to analytical and non-analytical business partners

         Possess a "Can do" attitude, energetic personality, ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced ever changing environment.

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed\:

         Healthcare Business Acumen & Industry Knowledge:

         Strong record of healthcare data mining experience with results

         Ability to approach high-level challenges with a clear eye on what is important; employing the right approach/methods to make the maximum use of time and human resources.

         Experience working with a healthcare data platform such as the Epic and Cerner

         Experience working in a large healthcare system a strong plus

         Effective Communication\:

         Proficient at detailing techniques and discoveries to technical and non-technical audiences in a language they can understand.

         Demonstrated ability to write scholarly publications

         Quantitative/Technical Skills\:

         6+ years experience in Data Science

         5+ years of relevant experience in Health Care field, preferably with a large health system

         Demonstrated ability with the following skills required\: Small data modeling using Python, R, Julia or Octave; big data modeling using Hadoop, Pig, Scala, or Spark; data mining using SQL, Pandas, or MongoDB; and production Development of data science solutions using Java, Python, or C++

         Strong data interpretation and visualization skills, experience in using BI tools (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau)

         Experience in handling large volume of data

         Highly competent in advanced statistical modeling and implementation of machine learning algorithms, including real-time data analytics

         Competency of Cloud-based computing and data integration services (MS Azure, Data Factory, Snowflake)

         Analytical techniques such as optimization process, predictive models and text analytics/ NLP

 

         Intellectual Curiosity\:

         Proficient at exploring new territories and finding creative and unusual ways to solve problems

         Self-motivated, independent and goal-oriented, a fast learner with good communication skills.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

 

         Masters degree (PhD preferred) in the following fields\: Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Artificial Intelligence, Quantitative Methods, or closely related quantitative field

         Research work experience required

         8+ years of relevant experience in Data Science and unsupervised research
