We currently have a career opportunity for a Senior Technical Consultant - Data Engineer to join our Data and Analytics team in the US.

 

As a Senior Technical Consultant you will participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle which includes estimating, technical design, implementation, documentation, testing, deployment and support of application developed for our clients. As a member working in a team environment you will take direction from solution architects and Leads on development activities.

Responsibilities
  • Work with data engineering team to define and develop data ingestion, validation, transformation, and data engineering code.
  • Develop open-source platform components using preferably Databricks.
  • Deliver on cloud platforms and integrate with services such as Azure Data Factory, ADLS, Azure DevOps, Azure Functions, Synapse or AWS Glue, Redshift, Lambda, and S3
  • Document code artifacts and participate in developing user documentation and run books
  • Troubleshoot deployment to various environments and provide test support.
  • Participate in design sessions, demos, and prototype sessions, testing and training workshops with business users and other IT associates.


Qualifications
  • At least 3+ years of experience in developing large scale data processing/data storage/data distribution systems, preferably Databricks
  • At least 3+ years of experience working with large Hadoop projects using Spark and Python and working with Spark Data Frame, Dataset APIs with Spark SQL as well as RDDs and Scala function literals and closures.
  • Hands-on experience with Databricks(preferably). 
  • Experience with ELT/ETL development, patterns and tooling is recommended
  • Experience with AWS and/or Azure cloud environments
  • Experience with SQL including Postgres, MySQL RDBMS platforms
  • Experience with various IDE and code repositories as well as unit testing frameworks.
  • Fundamental knowledge of distributed data processing systems and storage mechanisms.
  • Ability to produce high quality work products under pressure and within deadlines with specific references
  • Strong communication and collaborative skills
  • At least 5+ years of working with large multi-vendor environment with multiple teams and people as a part of the project
  • At least 5+ years of working with a complex Big Data environment
  • 5+ years of experience with JIRA/GitHub/Git and other code management toolsets

Preferred Skills and Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
  • Certification in Spark, Databricks, AWS, Azure or other cloud platform.

The salary range for this position takes into consideration a variety of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, level of experience, applicable office location, training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The new hire salary range displays the minimum and maximum salary targets for this position across all US locations, and the range has not been adjusted for any specific state differentials. It is not typical for a candidate to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the unique facts and circumstances regarding each candidate. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range for this position is $64,974 to $149,880. Please note that the salary range posted reflects the base salary only and does not include benefits or any potential equity or variable bonus programs.
