Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

Responsibilities

Oracle for Research, a branch of the Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) group, is building a new set of technologies that operate at high scale and a broadly distributed multi-tenant cloud environment. Critical to our mission is to help our researchers and scientist build on top of our cloud and/or migrate their existing solutions, applications and workflows.
Our team is looking for highly skilled full-stack engineers with an entrepreneurial spirit. As an engineer on our team you will help drive customer adoption of OCI by building the necessary tools, services and experiences to help them thrive. This role will allow you to apply your passion for problem solving and build robust products while solving key customer scenarios.

Responsibilities

• Ship reliable, scalable and efficient code
• Build new products to improve existing ones in collaboration with core Oracle product engineering teams
• Understand our client’s business and what is required to make them successful
• Independent drive efforts to completion
• Influence the road map and product development of OCI’s business to meet our client’s business challenges

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience shipping production code
• Strong experience in at least one high level programming language (Java, Python, Go, C#)
• Familiarity with web-based platforms (Angular, React, HTML, CSS, Javascript/Typescript)
• Familiarity with development tools and processes (e.g. Git, JIRA, Jenkins, Team City)
• Familiarity with data science tools and/or big data tools (e.g. R, python, anaconda, Jupyter, ML/AI frameworks)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or equivalent degree or experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience designing and implement distributed systems and REST API interfaces
• Experience building solutions on top of existing cloud providers (OCI, AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Experience working with researchers at universities/research institutions
