Description

As part of the Risk Governance & Intelligence team, you will collaborate with fellow Risk teams members, first line partners, and second line partners to establish a governance function that sets the tone for procedures and processes supported by data. The Data Scientist will be responsible for supporting KRI development and tracking, Risk Issue Insight, data quality for dashboards, organize, advise, educate, and Document procedures.

As a Data Scientist, you will apply risk management and governance skills to the enterprise. You will partner across Technology, Enterprise Risk, and with Information Security Teams to develop and support well-managed procedures, identify gaps in requirements and processes, and drive efforts to promote procedure governance in a manner that protects our customer, shareholders, and associates.

The Data Scientist must be able to operate in a highly collaborative team environment. The work we participate in has a high level of exposure across all lines of business, including other first and second line.

The Summer Associate Program is a 12-week internship program beginning in May 2025 and ending in August 2025. Students will work on impactful projects and meaningful work during their internship. To qualify for this position, applicants must be currently pursuing a degree from an accredited college or university and have an anticipated graduation date of December 2025 or later.



Responsibilities
  • Execute and perform governance reviews for different areas in Risk, encompassing related governance, risk, and compliance components.
  • Maintain effective process documentation and facilitate material changes.
  • Build successful relationships across the enterprise to understand the impact of how Risk and Security procedures align to requirements and industry standards.
  • Educate stakeholders on Risk policy drive socialization efforts forward to promote procedure governance.
  • Enable a strong culture of procedure governance that’s adaptable to a changing environment.
  • Identify process gaps and escalate potential issues and areas of non-compliance
  • Create and establish new end-to-end processes proactively. 
  • Establish well managed, best practices for procedures.
  • Actively seek and report on opportunities to strengthen processes via automation.
  • Perform data analysis and propose solutions. 
  • Self-prioritize and effectively manage multiple priorities and tasks across the team to deliver quality results.
  • Execute mapping of enterprise tools and applications to existing processes.
  • Analyze and interpret industry standards, regulations, and best practices.


Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Data Science, Data Analytics, Cybersecurity, Risk, or other related degree
  • Experience with programming, coding, database management, data wrangling, and data visualization 
  • Ability to communicate effectively and problem solve
  • Strong collaboration and critical thinking skills 
  • Familiarity or experience in cybersecurity or risk management
  • Familiarity or experience in project management
  • Machine Learning
