Big Data Engineer (Remote, Contract, AI training) — Micro1 via AI Gig Scout

micro1 is looking for Big Data Engineers for remote contract work at $30–$80/hr (50 openings). In this role you apply your expertise to help train next-generation AI systems: your work shapes how models learn, reason and perform through high-quality, real-world input.

You will design, build and maintain scalable big data pipelines and architectures; implement data integration, transformation and processing with Python and big data technologies; develop and optimize distributed databases and storage systems; monitor and troubleshoot data systems for availability and performance; enforce data quality, security and governance standards; and document solutions clearly.

Requirements: proven big data engineering experience building and maintaining large-scale pipelines; advanced Python for data processing, automation and integration; deep understanding of relational and NoSQL databases; experience with distributed processing frameworks (e.g. Hadoop, Spark, Flink); a strong foundation in data modeling, ETL and data warehousing; excellent written and verbal communication; self-motivated in remote work. Preferred: cloud big data platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and familiarity with MLOps and data science workflows.
