We are looking for a Data Engineer, Real World Data who is innovative, collaborative, and results-driven to join us in our Global Data Acquisition team, based in our headquarters in Atlanta, US.

About the role
As a Global Data Liaison, you will drive UCB’s access to key real-world healthcare data sources (RWD). You will evaluate and onboard data assets, ensuring they align with UCB’s biopharmaceutical development and commercialization goals. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, you'll play a critical role in data acquisition and governance while supporting data-driven decision-making.


Who you’ll work with
You will be working in a dynamic, cross-functional team within the Global Data Acquisition Strategy Team, collaborating with colleagues in IT, the Data Office, external data providers, and key business units. Together, you'll ensure that UCB leverages the best data solutions available to maximize business impact.

What you’ll do

  • Technical ability to qualify and quantify the evaluation of RWD from external sources.
  • Maintain strong relationships with global healthcare data providers and their product developments as they align to UCB’s evolving business needs.
  • Conduct RWD provider landscape scanning to identify, leverage, or integrate appropriate data sources, market trends, and evolving marketplace dynamics.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to operationalize data solutions, use case experiments, and analytical tools.
  • Develop technical training materials and communicate effectively about data sources to users of varying technical experience and prowess.
  • Ensure proper data governance and compliance to internal and external regulations across all data assets.


Interested? For this role we’re looking for the following education, experience, and skills:

Minimum Experience/Skills Required:

  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in a quantitative field preferred, Bachelors in a quantiative field required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience with pharmaceutical data and data acquisition.

Preferred Experience/Skills:

  • Expertise in analyzing RWD, including but not limited to patient-level claims, labs, and unstructured data.
  • Experience with R, Python, SQL.Proven ability to work with internal and external stakeholders to meet business needs.
  • Strong knowledge of data contracting, compliance, and governance.
  • Creative problem-solving skills with a results-oriented mindset. 

This positions reasonably anticipated base salary range is $124,000-$162,800 per year. The actual salary offered will take into account internal equity and may also vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors.
