As a mid-level data scientist, you will bring deep expertise in programming, data engineering, and algorithm development, ensuring efficient, maintainable, and secure implementations. You will also play a critical role in managing technical debt, driving innovation, and optimizing data pipelines and models for production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently design, develop, and deploy complex machine learning models and data-driven solutions that enhance business operations and decision-making.
  • Write idiomatic, maintainable, and efficient code in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, R, SQL), improving code readability and collaboration.
  • Apply software engineering best practices to develop scalable data applications, integrating frameworks, libraries, and tools for robust application development.
  • Utilize advanced statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and AI techniques to extract meaningful insights from complex data sets.
  • Design and implement secure, scalable, and modular data architectures, adhering to best practices in security and risk mitigation.
  • Troubleshoot complex data challenges, independently addressing issues and recognizing opportunities for data optimization.
  • Manage and reduce technical debt by identifying inefficient processes, improving infrastructure, and ensuring model reliability and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders, to align data solutions with organizational goals.
  • Lead and facilitate technical discussions, mentoring junior data scientists and engineers while fostering a collaborative team culture.
  • Actively participate in hiring processes, technical interviews, and knowledge-sharing initiatives to support team growth and development.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of hands-on experience in data science, machine learning, and software engineering.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, R, SQL, or similar).
  • Deep understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software development methodologies.
  • Expertise in machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn) and data processing tools (e.g., Spark, Hadoop, Pandas).
  • Experience designing secure, scalable, and efficient architectures, incorporating security best practices to mitigate vulnerabilities.
  • Strong experience in feature engineering, model training, evaluation, and deployment in production environments.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based data platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and big data technologies.
  • Ability to communicate complex data concepts effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with MLOps and automated machine learning pipelines.
  • Understanding of natural language processing (NLP), deep learning, or reinforcement learning.
