Legal Citation Reviewer, Part-Time AI Evaluation
OpenTrain AILegal Citation Reviewer, Part-Time AI Evaluation
• $50–$80 per hour
• 100% remote
• Part-time
• Fully flexible schedule
Test legal citation rubrics for AI on your own schedule and help make them clear and consistent.
AI training is the human work behind artificial intelligence: experts read what a model produces, decide whether it is right, and write the feedback that makes the next version better. Legal AI is only as good as the people who check it, so the teams building it need careful cite-checkers who can spot a wrong pincite, short form or signal and explain the correction.
What you'll do
• Read Bluebook and pincite grading rubrics and mark rules that are unclear or incomplete
• Find citation edge cases the rubrics miss and say how each should be handled
• Build cite-checking tasks across citation types and difficulty levels
• Apply Bluebook rules the same way every time and explain each correction
Why this is worth your time
• Earn $50–$80 an hour checking how AI applies Bluebook rules and explaining what it gets wrong
• See firsthand how AI handles legal citation, from pincites and short forms to signals and parentheticals
• Help make AI legal work more accurate and more consistent
• Fully remote and flexible, no fixed shifts, no commute
Who this is for
• Be a current law student or hold a JD
• Have law review or law journal experience, especially in cite-checking or source collection
• Know The Bluebook well, with strong working knowledge of pincites, short forms, signals and parentheticals
• Work carefully, consistently and independently, and explain citation corrections clearly in English
• No AI experience needed. You bring the cite-checking expertise; the work provides structured citation tasks and grading rubrics.
Pay and details
• $50–$80 per hour, paid hourly as an independent contractor
• Part-time, flexible schedule; fully remote, United States
