As a Snowflake Data Architect, you’ll own the platform’s design and performance, shaping a modern data environment that empowers teams to make smarter decisions. Working closely with engineering, governance, and strategy teams, you’ll define architectural standards, optimize resource usage, and lead mission-critical data initiatives. Accountabilities:

  • Lead the strategic architecture of Snowflake environments across U.S. and international instances, applying medallion-layer principles and best practices in data modeling.
  • Define and maintain standards for object naming, compute utilization, and scalable data structures.
  • Collaborate with data engineering teams to improve schema design, performance, and platform consistency.
  • Optimize platform costs by improving query efficiency and storage performance.
  • Serve as the Snowflake subject matter expert in key enterprise projects, including migrations and analytics initiatives.
  • Work with a dedicated Platform Engineer to manage version control, metadata documentation, and object lifecycle practices.
  • Mentor teams on Snowflake performance tuning and usage best practices.
  • Engage in governance and architecture reviews to ensure a secure and reliable platform.


Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience in data engineering or architecture roles, including at least 3 years hands-on with Snowflake.
  • Strong command of Snowflake architecture, SQL optimization, and scalable data modeling.
  • Proficiency in SQL and familiarity with Python for scripting and automation tasks.
  • Experience with Snowflake cost monitoring, query performance tuning, and compute resource optimization.
  • Working knowledge of GitOps, CI/CD workflows, and data platform lifecycle practices.
  • Familiarity with ETL tools and orchestration platforms like Airflow.
  • Clear communicator with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Self-driven and proactive, with a passion for continuous platform improvement.
