This is a strategic role for an experienced data engineering professional who will design and optimize enterprise-scale data pipelines, supporting cross-functional teams and business-critical systems. You will build robust, scalable ETL/ELT workflows, maintain cloud-based infrastructure, and integrate machine learning models to deliver actionable insights. The position requires hands-on technical expertise, particularly in Python, SQL, AWS, and database management, combined with the ability to drive best practices in governance, efficiency, and automation. You will collaborate with stakeholders across analytics, product, and engineering to create reliable, AI-ready data solutions. This is an opportunity to influence the companyβs data strategy while working in a hybrid or remote-friendly environment.
Accountabilities:
- Design, develop, and optimize scalable data pipelines to support analytics, reporting, and operational needs.
- Build and maintain ETL/ELT workflows using SQL, Python, dbt, SSIS, and AWS Glue.
- Integrate machine learning models into data pipelines via AWS SageMaker to deliver actionable insights.
- Administer and optimize relational (MS SQL, Postgres, MySQL) and NoSQL (DynamoDB) databases for performance and reliability.
- Manage cloud infrastructure on AWS (EC2, Redshift, RDS, S3, DMS, Athena, CloudWatch, QuickSight) and automate deployments with Terraform.
- Ensure data governance, security, and compliance best practices, including encryption at rest and in transit.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enable AI-ready and self-service analytics solutions.
- Utilize Git for version control and implement development best practices to maintain code integrity.
Requirements - Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Data Engineering, or related field (Masterβs degree accepted with reduced experience requirement).
- 7+ years of progressive experience in data engineering (or 5+ years with a Masterβs degree), including delivering large-scale data solutions.
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS technologies, including EC2, Glue, Redshift, RDS, S3, DMS, Athena, CloudWatch, QuickSight, and SageMaker.
- Expertise in Python, SQL, ETL/ELT processes, dbt, SSIS, and workflow optimization.
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, including MS SQL, Postgres, MySQL, and DynamoDB.
- Knowledge of encryption, database tuning, indexing, and query optimization.
- Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform).
- Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance principles.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
