The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced and innovative Systems Engineer/Data Architect to lead our data architecture and systems integration efforts for CACI on the NASA NCAPS program. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing complex data solutions that align with NASA's strategic goals admission requirements.
Responsibilities:
1. Lead the development and implementati on of enterprise-wide data architecture strategies and frameworks.
2. Design and oversee the integrati on of multi ple complex systems and data sources across the organizati on.
3. Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical soluti ons.
4. Develop and maintain data models, data dicti onaries, and data fl ow diagrams.
5. Establish data governance policies and ensure compliance with data standards and regulati ons.
6. Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to improve data management and integrati on processes.
7. Mentor and guide junior team members in data architecture and systems integrati on best practi ces.
8. Oversee large-scale data migrati on and transformati on projects.
9. Develop and implement data quality and master data management strategies.
10. Collaborate with IT teams to ensure seamless integrati on of data soluti ons with existi ng infrastructure.
11. Collaborate closely with NASA stakeholders to understand specifi c mission requirements and data needs.
12. Ensure data soluti ons meet NASA's stringent security and compliance standards.
13. Design scalable data architectures to handle large volumes of scientific and mission-criti cal data.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in data architecture and systems integration roles.
• Extensive knowledge of data modeling techniques, ETL processes, and database management systems.
• Strong understanding of big data technologies and cloud-based data solutions.
• Experience with data governance and data quality management.
• Proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java).
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Desired:
• Experience with machine learning and AI technologies.
• Familiarity with US Government specific data & cyber security regulations
• Certifications in relevant technologies or methodologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, TOGAF)
• Proficiency in data visualization tools, particularly Tableau.
• Experience with Databricks for big data processing and analytics.
• Knowledge of workflow management tools, especially Apache Air flow
• Familiarity with cloud storage solutions, such as Amazon S3.
• Strong background in cloud technologies and platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
.• Experience in designing and implementing cloud-based data architectures
• Experience with Earth science, astrophysics, or other relevant scientific data.
• Knowledge of NASA's open data initiatives and public data portals.

The proposed salary range for this position is:
