We’re looking for a creative and detail-oriented Video Editor to support a filmmaker and storyteller with a growing international presence. This role involves editing cinematic, documentary-style content with a strong focus on emotion, pacing, and visual storytelling. You’ll collaborate remotely to turn raw footage into polished short-form and long-form edits that align with a distinctive, authentic style.
Work Hours: 20hours/week (part-time with potential to transition into full-time); AU working hours
Work Set-Up: Remote (PH-based); Independent Contractor
Salary: $400-800
Key Responsibilities:
- Edit 5–20 min long-form videos in a cinematic vlog/documentary style.
- Create short (10–60 sec) vertical videos for Instagram Reels and TikTok
- Enhance edits with music, sound design, and basic color correction.
- Prioritize authentic, story-driven editing over trendy or clickbait styles
- Work closely with the client to learn and mirror his editing style, while offering your own creative input
- Edit dialogue-heavy content with strong English comprehension.
- Maintain an organized file structure for projects, exports, and final delivery.
Role Requirements:- Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, with a strong command of editing tools and workflows.
- A well-developed portfolio demonstrating experience in cinematic, story-driven, or documentary-style editing.
- Strong grasp of pacing, rhythm, and narrative structure to craft compelling edits.
- Competency in basic color grading and sound design to support and enhance visual storytelling.
- Excellent English comprehension and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret tone, context, and nuance in dialogue-driven content.
- Highly self-motivated and reliable, with the ability to work independently in a remote environment while meeting deadlines.
- Willingness to learn and align with Dani’s established editing style, while maintaining attention to creative detail.
Preferred Requirements:- Experience with Adobe After Effects or motion graphics design.
- Background in editing wedding films, branded documentaries, or travel-focused content.
- Familiarity with advanced cinematic color grading techniques.
- Ability to provide creative input and contribute to story development and visual direction.
