Aerospace Engineering Expert, Part-Time AI Evaluation - Remote (United States)
OpenTrain AICreate and assess difficult aerospace engineering problems for AI evaluation, then explain the correct analysis.
AI companies need aerospace engineers to check how well AI handles aerospace work when real-world limits apply. You will pose demanding problems, write analyses that a fellow specialist can check, and define scoring standards for telling sound answers apart from technically wrong responses that look convincing. You will also review other contributors' problems for technical accuracy and flag work that is too ambiguous to grade reliably. This is that work, done remotely around your schedule.
What you'll do
• Build demanding problems in aerodynamics and propulsion
• Write the right analyses and lay out your reasoning so another specialist can check it
• Define clear scoring standards for distinguishing sound answers from technically wrong ones
• Review other contributors' problems for technical accuracy and flag ambiguous work that cannot be graded reliably
Why this is worth your time
• Get paid $85–$185 an hour
• Use your aerospace engineering judgment on difficult technical problems and analyses
• Work flexibly alongside your current role
• Fully remote and flexible, no fixed shifts, no commute
Who this is for
• A graduate degree in aerospace engineering or mechanical engineering at the master's or PhD level; a closely related field also qualifies
• Hold a principal-, staff-, or fellow-level role at a major aerospace organization, or hold a faculty appointment with a leading university
• Professional fluency in English; deep knowledge of one or more aerospace areas; hands-on responsibility for engineering work; and the ability to justify a correct answer in clear terms
No AI experience needed. Experience with AI or large language model evaluation is helpful, not required.
Pay and details
• $85–$185 per hour, paid hourly as an independent contractor
• Part-time, flexible schedule; fully remote, United States
