Job Overview
As a Managing Consultant, Data Architecture at Tegria, you will play a key role in delivering tailored data solutions to our clients, ensuring the optimal use of their data to drive business success. You will work closely with clients to understand their needs, assess requirements, and design scalable, efficient data architectures. Your responsibilities will include selecting the appropriate technologies, guiding the implementation process, and overseeing the successful delivery of projects.
In this role, you will lead project planning, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure that all solutions align with the client's goals and objectives. You will be instrumental in helping organizations unlock the full potential of their data, fostering greater business intelligence and operational efficiency.
Core Responsibilities
Client Engagement Delivery / Engagement Leadership
Serving in a lead capacity and providing product, operational, project-based, and/or related consulting services as needed
Providing professional, effective, and consistent delivery of consulting services on all assigned engagements
Working independently or as part of a project team on a client engagement, either full-time on a single customer engagement or part-time across customers
Proactively managing engagement/client communications, expectation management, time and appropriate status reporting, effective written and verbal communications, and strong facilitation skills
Applying appropriate tools and methods as needed including, but not limited to, use of status reporting, standards, tools, metrics, expectation management, change management, change control, and quality assurance methods
Effectively managing your own time and project deployment/utilization
Collaborating on project activities and deliverables with fellow Tegria team members
Assess client needs and define data architecture solutions that align with business objectives.
Design and implement scalable, secure, and efficient data solutions using technologies such as Azure, Databricks, and Snowflake.
Lead the execution of data-related projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality outcomes.
Provide guidance and recommendations on best practices for data governance, security, and optimization.
Collaborate with clients to ensure that the architecture is aligned with their data strategy and operational needs.
Advanced expertise in data architecture to help clients maximize the value of their data and improve business decision-making.
Lead design sessions to build consensus among stakeholders and inform developers on key decisions and best practices.
Internal Team Support
Leveraging your specialized skill set to serve as a thought leader on the team
Mentor and support junior team members, sharing knowledge and fostering professional growth.
Collaborate with internal technical teams, including data engineers, developers, and analysts, to ensure the successful integration and implementation of data solutions.
Review and provide feedback on design documentation, ensuring solutions adhere to best practices and are delivered to the highest standards.
Help internal teams with troubleshooting and optimizing data architectures to improve system performance.
Curate and maintain a centralized document repository to transform tribal knowledge into standardized, reusable design patterns for future project reference.
Business Development
Supporting sales and business development by ensuring quality delivery on assigned engagements
Reporting potential engagement expansion opportunities identified while working on assigned engagements
Developing materials to support sales efforts, as needed
Identify opportunities for additional services and solutions during client engagements, working closely with sales teams to drive business growth.
Leveraging industry connections and knowledge to identify potential business development opportunities
Developing marketing materials and/or blog posts to promote Tegria services and outcomes
Contribute to sales proposals and RFPs as it applies to data architectures and other areas of expertise
Present new initiatives, ideas, and strategies to the team
Personal/Professional
Continuously improve technical expertise in data architecture, cloud technologies, and related fields through certifications, training, and research.
Attend industry events, webinars, and conferences to expand your knowledge and network with peers in the field.
Build a reputation as a trusted advisor and thought leader in the data architecture domain.
Seek feedback and actively work on personal development to enhance skills in leadership, client management, and technical delivery.
Continuing to grow skillset by earning industry related certifications.
Additional Responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications
Proven experience as a Solution Architect, with a focus on presales activities such as solution design, proposal creation, and client presentations.
Strong expertise in cloud technologies, particularly Azure, Databricks, and Snowflake, and experience estimating cloud consumption costs across these platforms.
Certification in Epic.
Great understanding of cloud cost management tools (e.g., Azure Cost Management, AWS Cost Explorer, Google Cloud Billing) to accurately estimate and optimize cloud consumption costs.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to design complex solutions and explain them to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Strong experience in presales solution architecture, including leading client discussions, delivering technical presentations, designing solutions, and estimating costs based on client needs.
Strong project management and organizational skills to oversee multiple presales engagements and ensure timely delivery of proposals, solutions, and cost estimates.
Required Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, business, IT, or computer science or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Master's degree or PhD preferred
Certifications

Vendor certifications (e.g. Azure, Databricks, Snowflake, EHR vendor, TriZetto FACETS, etc.)
Project Management (e.g. PMP, CSM, PMI-ACP)
Experience
8+ years of professional experience delivering project or program enhancements within a healthcare organization, payer, or healthcare consulting practice where relevant experience includes:
Advanced architectural tools experience (EMR reporting tools, data extraction tools, data pipeline tools, etc.)
Proficiency at connecting business intelligence tools to multiple data stores such as Azure, Oracle, SQL Server, Google BigQuery, Hadoop Hive, Spark SQL, etc.
Great experience at an architect level designing, implementing, and maintaining a cloud data platform (Azure, Databricks, Snowflake)
Proven understanding of data warehouse design with advanced knowledge in ETL/ELT data pipelines and querying languages such as T-SQL
Knowledge
Recognized as a subject matter expert within your field or focus area
Advanced understanding of querying, implementing, supporting, optimizing, or upgrading data models within an EMR system
Extensive knowledge of a SQL database development, unstructured data processing
Curiosity and enthusiasm for healthcare IT and data analytics
A conceptual knowledge and demonstrated practical understanding of data visualization techniques and best practices
Demonstrated understanding of data quality best practices
