$100 - $150 USD hourly

• $100–$150 per hour equivalent, paid per accepted task

• 100% remote

• Part-time

• About 15 hours a week, you choose when

Put your open-source engineering experience to work reviewing and building the coding tasks AI systems are tested on, on a flexible part-time schedule.

AI training is the human work behind artificial intelligence: experts read what a model produces, decide whether it is right, and write the feedback that makes the next version better. Coding systems improve only when experienced engineers write hard, realistic tasks and check AI-generated code the way a careful maintainer would. The teams building them need open-source engineers who can work in unfamiliar repositories, reproduce and fix real issues, and judge whether an AI-written patch is correct, secure and maintainable. This is remote contract work with flexible scheduling and an expected commitment of about 15 hours a week.

What you'll do

• Map unfamiliar repositories, then follow data and execution as they move between services and APIs

• Reproduce bugs, identify root causes, and deliver fixes for software issues

• Translate complete builds from one programming language to another, and create test suites covering unit, integration, regression and end-to-end cases

• Check AI-written patches for security, maintainability, correctness and completeness

Why this is worth your time

• Earn the equivalent of $100–$150 an hour reviewing AI-generated patches and building coding tasks

• Work on AI coding systems as they are tested and improved, judging AI-generated patches for correctness, security and maintainability

• Apply your open-source engineering judgment to code review, testing and clear model feedback

• Fully remote and flexible, no fixed shifts, no commute

Who this is for

• A publicly verifiable GitHub profile with open-source repositories where you had a meaningful role as an owner or contributor

• Strong software-engineering experience in a substantial technical area, such as front-end, back-end, full-stack, systems, developer tooling or infrastructure, plus a portfolio of code you authored and you can read and change codebases you did not write

• Experience working across several programming languages, such as TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, Java, Go, Rust, C++, C# or Ruby

• Professional fluency in English

• No AI experience needed. You bring the expertise; your judgment helps improve AI models.

Pay and details

• $100–$150 per hour equivalent; pay is per accepted task, as an independent contractor

• Part-time, flexible schedule; fully remote, United States
