This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Principal, Data Architect in Virginia (USA).

In this role, you will lead the design and implementation of enterprise data architecture initiatives, creating scalable and secure solutions that enable actionable insights across the organization. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to define, develop, and optimize data products and infrastructure, while driving innovation in data modeling, integration, and analytics. This position offers the opportunity to influence strategic decision-making, promote data literacy, and deliver value from business-driven data initiatives. You will help define best practices, leverage emerging technologies, and ensure data quality, security, and accessibility at scale.

Accountabilities:

  • Design and implement enterprise data architecture, including databases, data warehouses, and data lakes.
  • Lead the development and execution of ETL processes from diverse data sources into organizational systems.
  • Translate high-level business requirements into data models, metadata, test data, and quality standards.
  • Optimize existing data architecture to deliver reusable services, cost savings, and performance improvements.
  • Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies for data management, storage, and analytics.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders to identify opportunities for insights and analytics solutions.
  • Develop minimum viable data products, including associated business cases, to support organizational goals.
  • Establish and enforce standards, guidelines, and governance processes to ensure data quality and security.


Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Data Management, Data Science, Computer Information Systems, or related field. Advanced degrees preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in designing and implementing data models for enterprise data warehouses; at least 2 years focused on security data.
  • Technical leadership experience in projects involving data warehousing, modeling, and analysis.
  • Strong programming skills in Java, Python, and C/C++ and proficiency with SQL, R, SAS, or Excel.
  • Expertise in cloud-based data architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP), real-time data distribution (Kafka, Dataflow), and modern data warehouse tools (Snowflake, Databricks).
  • Experience with database technologies including SQL, NoSQL, Oracle, Hadoop, or Teradata.
  • Knowledge of entity-relationship modeling, metadata systems, and data quality frameworks.
  • Experience with business intelligence and ETL tools such as Power BI and Tableau.
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in complex cross-functional teams.
  • Must be authorized to work in the US.
