Overview

THE ROLE: 


As the Senior Director of Global Data Architecture, you will lead a dynamic team responsible for optimizing data processes, implementing enterprise data logic, and enhancing the value of our data assets. Your role will be pivotal in shaping our global data strategy, including analytical and operational data requirements, enabling data-driven decision-making, building foundations for self-service analytics and driving innovation through data analysis and management. The ideal candidate has a proven track record in data leadership, a deep understanding of enterprise data logic, and a passion for harnessing data to drive organizational excellence.

 

HOW YOU WOULD CONTRIBUTE: 


Data Architecture & Integration:
•    Design and maintain data architecture models, ensuring alignment with business goals, scalability, and flexibility to accommodate evolving data needs.
•    Manage data integration processes, including data ingestion, transformation, and synchronization across disparate systems and platforms.
•    Continuously evaluate and improve data processes, automating workflows where possible to enhance efficiency.
Data Management:
•    Develop and implement data management strategies to ensure the efficient collection, storage, and retrieval of data across the organization.
•    Drive the implementation of enterprise data logic to enable consistent and reliable data processing and analytics.
•    Create and maintain data documentation, including data dictionaries and metadata, to support data governance and compliance efforts.
Artificial Intelligence:
•    Develop and continually enhance a global data strategy for AI that serves the dynamic needs of a new and innovative AI team, encompassing both Generative AI and Machine Learning use cases
•    Drive the creation of data engineering integrations and pipelines that establish bi-directional data feeds to our AI systems
Team Leadership & Development:
•    Lead and mentor a team of data professionals, principals, technical architects, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
•    Build, collaborate, iterate, and present architecture and strategy to enterprise architecture, security, and privacy leadership for multi-functional alignment.
•    Provide mentorship, coaching, and professional development opportunities to team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.
•    Establish performance metrics, conduct regular performance evaluations, and recognize achievements to motivate and retain top talent.


Stakeholder Engagement & Communication:


•    Good communication and partnership with both technology and business executives to discover business requirements and advise on architecture changes and considerations
•    Collaborate with multi-functional teams to identify data needs and requirements, ensuring data availability and accessibility.
•    Act as a liaison between technical and non-technical partners, translating business requirements into actionable data solutions.
•    Contribute to a data-driven culture by promoting data literacy, facilitating training sessions, and advocating for data-driven decision-making throughout the organization.
Thought Leadership:
•    Know the latest with industry trends and emerging technologies in data management and artificial intelligence, recommending and implementing relevant tools and solutions.
•    Evaluate emerging technologies and methodologies for data integration and recommend solutions that improve efficiency and agility.

Qualifications

SKILLS AND BACKGROUND REQUIRED TO BE SUCCESSFUL: 

 

•    Demonstrable experience (10+ years) in data management tools, databases, and data warehousing technologies.
•    Solid understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and data integration.
•    Experience with data quality and governance frameworks.
•    Familiarity with data analytics and visualization tools.


Leadership and Team Management:


•    Demonstrable experience in leading and developing high-performing teams.
•    Ability to inspire and mentor team members to achieve data management goals.
•    Good interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with multi-functional teams.
Analytical Thinking:
•    Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze sophisticated data-related issues.
•    Capacity to identify trends, patterns, and insights from data to advise decision-making.

•    Deep understanding of business processes and the ability to align data strategies with organizational objectives.

•    Proficiency in project management methodologies to oversee data-related projects.

Experience:


•    10+ years of experience in data management or a related field, with 5+ years in a managerial role.
•    Proven track record of delivering successful data management projects and driving business impact.

 

Education:


•    A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, or a related discipline is required.
•    A master's degree or certification in Data Management, Data Science, or a related field is preferred and may be advantageous.
