Summary

The Senior Business Intelligence Data Architect is primarily responsible for creating and maintaining shared datasets within Microsoft Fabric, Microsoft Azure, and Power BI. The role will focus on making data from the Enterprise Oracle EBS R12 ERP and other third-party systems available for consumption in reports and for self-service users. Other functions will include mentoring other team members, identifying relevant data for inclusion in the Unified Data Platform, and furthering the development of a data-driven culture within the manufacturing domain. Performs other projects and duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Develops Shared Data Models for the Enterprise Unified Data Platform.
• Assists with migrating from other reporting platforms, including SC applications & Business Objects, by making the data available via Power BI.
• Creating Prototype Data Solutions to help validate user requests & shape Unified Data Platform requirements.
• Investigating & analyzing data sources to identify relevant information for inclusion in our data solutions.
• Assists with creating requirements & user-stories to bring additional data into the Enterprise Unified Data Platform.
• Develops and maintains technical documentation and standards documents to ensure consistency, promote best practices, and facilitate knowledge sharing across the Enterprise Data Team and wider organization.
• Performs routine maintenance and performance tuning as required.
• May assist with creating various reports, including exploratory and explanatory analysis packages.
• Provides production support as needed.
• Will knowledge share and mentor other members of the IT team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information systems and software engineering or Equivalent work experience.
• 10+ years of strong experience of solution designing/configuration and implementations of Business Intelligence and/or Data Warehousing solutions
• Advanced knowledge working with Microsoft Power BI, including a strong knowledge of DAX, and PowerQuery.
• 1+ year of experience managing Microsoft Fabric and\or Microsoft Azure.
• Advanced knowledge writing SQL Queries & Views & Stored Procedures.
• Expertise in dimensional modeling and star-schema design for BI applications.
• Excellent initiative, innovative thinking skills, and the ability to analyze details and adequately organize them into the overall data strategy.
• Strong understanding of data governance, security, and compliance in the manufacturing sector.
• Proven ability to optimize performance for large-scale datasets.
• Proficient with using Excel for basic data quality & validation checks.
• Familiarity with development tools & languages including Python.
• Familiarity with manufacturing industry terminology & practices.
• Excellent Team player and can-do attitude.

Desirable Skills

• Masters or equivalent will be plus
• Ability to talk to technical and non-technical members including senior business stakeholders
• Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate or Azure Data Engineer Associate certifications are a plus.
• Knowledge of Oracle EBS R12.X will be a plus
