Sr Azure Data Architect with SAP

This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead the design and implementation of large-scale, cloud-based data solutions integrating complex SAP environments with Azure Databricks. The Sr Azure Data Architect will define and execute robust data strategies, ensuring seamless integration of SAP S/4HANA and ECC data into scalable cloud platforms. You will work closely with cross-functional teams—including SAP functional consultants, data engineers, and business analysts—to translate business requirements into effective technical architectures. This position requires both strategic thinking and hands-on expertise, providing visibility into cutting-edge data technologies and the chance to shape enterprise data capabilities in a remote-friendly environment.

Accountabilities

As a Sr Azure Data Architect with SAP, you will:

• Define and implement a scalable data integration strategy to extract, transform, and load data from SAP S/4HANA and ECC systems into Azure Databricks.
• Design and maintain a transient data layer that seamlessly fits both current and future SAP data models.
• Lead the architecture and development of large-scale cloud-based data platforms, ensuring performance, security, and reliability.
• Collaborate with SAP consultants, data engineers, and business analysts to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Provide guidance on best practices in data architecture, data governance, and cloud platform optimization.
• Present data architecture solutions and strategies to senior stakeholders in a clear and actionable manner.
• Mentor team members and provide technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle.

The ideal candidate will have:

• 12+ years of experience in data architecture and large-scale data platform implementations.
• Hands-on experience designing and developing enterprise-scale data platforms in Databricks.
• Strong understanding of SAP S/4HANA and ECC data models, with experience integrating SAP data into cloud platforms.
• Expertise in Azure data services, including Azure Databricks, Data Factory, and related cloud tools.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to senior stakeholders.
• Experience partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver robust data solutions.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and mentoring skills.
