Tier One Technologies is seeking a Sr. Database Developer/Administrator to support our US Government client.
This is going to be a 100% remote position.
SELECTED CANDIDATES WITHOUT REQUIRED CLEARANCE WILL BE SUBJECT TO A FEDERAL GOVERNMENT BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION TO RECEIVE IT.
Responsibilities
Business Requirements: Analyze and translate business requirements into efficient database designs that meet the data needs of the organization and align with the business goals and processes.
Data Modeling: Create conceptual, logical, and physical database models using tools like ERD diagrams to depict a visual representation of the organization's data and how it relates to the business requirements.
Database Design Patterns: Utilize common database design patterns to solve recurring design problems.
Data Integration: Utilize common data integration techniques to consolidate data from multiple sources into a cohesive and consistent dataset.
Normalization Techniques: Utilize normalization principles to reduce redundancy and improve data integrity.
Indexing Strategies: Implement indexing techniques to optimize query performance and data retrieval.
Database Security: Use data security best practices to enforce data privacy and protect sensitive information.
Scalability and Performance: Design database that can scale horizontally or vertically to handle increasing workloads.
Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with stakeholders, developers, architects, and other team members to ensure the database design meets the project requirements.
Qualifications
A degree from an accredited College/University in the applicable field of services is required. If the individual's degree is not in the applicable field, then 4 additional years of related experience is required.
8+ years of overall IT experience.
Proficiency in database management systems like MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, etc. Strong understanding of database concepts, normalization, indexing, and query optimization.
Knowledge of data modeling concepts and tools to design database structures, entities, relationships, and data flow diagrams.
Strong command of SQL (Structured Query Language) for querying, manipulating, and managing data within databases.
Familiarity with database administration tasks such as performance tuning, backup and recovery, security management, and user access control.
Familiarity with DevSecOps, Secure Coding practices, and the Solutions Development Framework (Docker, Jenkins, GitLab)
Strong analytical, critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members, stakeholders, and business users, and to translate technical concepts into non-technical terms.
Must be able to obtain a Position of Public Trust Clearance.
All candidates must be a US Citizen or have permanent residence status (Green Card).
Candidate must have lived in the United States for the past 5 years.
Cannot have more than 6 months travel outside the United States within the last 5 years. Military Service excluded.
