This role will be responsible for the data security strategy, including and not limited to data loss prevention, and data protection technologies. Work closely with the technology and business stakeholders to mature and further Humana’s data ecosystem.
Job Responsibilities:
Develop and Lead Data Governance Strategy: Formulate and implement data governance frameworks, policies, and standards to ensure high data quality, integrity, privacy, and security across the organization.
Establish Data Stewardship Programs: Oversee the identification and training of data stewards, ensuring clear ownership and accountability for critical data assets.
Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Monitor compliance with relevant data-related regulations (such as GDPR, HIPAA, or internal policies) and collaborate with legal and compliance teams to address data governance requirements.
Data Quality Management: Define and enforce data quality metrics, monitor data accuracy, and manage issue resolution processes.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with business units, IT, analytics, and executive leadership to align data governance initiatives with organizational objectives.
Risk Management: Identify and mitigate data-related risks through robust controls, periodic audits, and risk assessments.
Promote Data Literacy and Culture: Champion data governance awareness and data-driven decision-making across the enterprise through communication, training, and best practice sharing.
Data Cataloguing: responsible for managing metadata for the organization.
Oversee Data Governance Tools and Technology: Evaluate, select, and manage data governance platforms and tools to support program goals.
Performance Measurement and Reporting: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for data governance initiatives and report progress to senior leadership.
Proven data management and data governance practitioner with deep understanding of ETL, data transformation and management practices.
Cloud environment: Technical understanding of cloud architecture and solutions including but not limited to GCP and Azure.
Policy Management and Technical Controls: Work closely with legal, risk and IT teams to define and implement policies, standards and controls for data management.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree
Experience with mergers & acquisitions, divesture, and integration activities
15+ years of technical leadership experience in data governance or Information Technology
10+ years of people leadership experience
Strong verbal and communication skills
Ability to influence peers and leadership teams across the organization

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting.
